“Knife or acid”- A Concerned Prince Harry Explains Why Wife Meghan Markle’s UK Days Are Over
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were stripped of all publicly funded protection the moment they stepped back from royal duties in 2020. However, the Duke seems to be moving heaven and earth to secure taxpayer-funded security protection in the UK for him and his family, especially during visits to Britain. This was also one of the reasons the Duke came alone to his Invictus celebrations in the UK this year, leaving Markle with the children stateside.
Now the Duke has stated his reasons for not bringing Meghan Markle to the UK without proper security protection in further detail.

It is safe to say that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are not everyone’s cup of tea in the UK. The two have a polarizing image, making the risks all the more apparent. Prince Harry recently bared his soul in an interview for ITV’s documentary, Tabloids on Trial, which aired Thursday, sharing why he will not bring Markle to the UK. “It’s still dangerous,” said the 39-year-old. He stated that threats could range from "a knife or acid" attack.
Prince Harry added, “I can’t put my wife in danger like that". He believed anyone who has been caught up in the tabloids and feels passionately about certain things could take a dangerous step. “I won’t bring my wife back to this country,” the Duke said. This was one of the reasons the couple recently decided to put their house hunt in the UK on ice. Prince Harry also explained why his battle with the court and media is a hill he is committed to standing on.
Prince Harry's late mother, Princess Diana, inspired him to tackle the tabloids head-on with all the determination he could muster.

Prince Harry revealed that it was his battle with the court and tabloids that “caused part of a rift” between him and the royal family. Therefore, he is not exactly concerned about whether his new legal battles might draw undue attention to him and Meghan Markle. “There is more than enough attention on me and my wife anyway,” said the Duke. Still, he was cautious about sharing his opinions on the royal family, as it might open the floodgates to a “torrent of abuse” from the media.
Prince Harry, nonetheless, had the full support of his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. The Duke had many in-depth conversations with the Queen and secured her blessing for his battles against the court and tabloids. But as it stands, it is clear that the Prince will not risk bringing his wife and family across the Atlantic until the security issues are sorted out once and for all.
