A wintry chill has embraced England, shrouding the royal palace in a subdued sense of expectancy. Two senior royals, King Charles and Princess Kate are fighting their own battles with health complications currently. The Princess of Wales has already undergone her procedure for an abdominal concern. Now, it is King Charles’ turn to go under the knife to treat his enlarged prostate. The nation, accustomed to their presence at public engagements, is collectively holding its breath, earnestly hoping for both of their swift recoveries. 

It seems that both royals crossed paths today as the monarch made his way to his scheduled treatment. 

Princess Kate and King Charles admitted to the same facility

Princess Kate is currently recuperating from her abdominal surgery at the London Clinic in London. People reported today that King Charles, who was himself en route to the very same clinic for his procedure, dropped in to see his daughter-in-law today before getting admitted himself. It is believed that this is the first time the King and Queen Camilla have visited the princess since her surgery.

Apparently, Prince William, who has also withdrawn from making public appearances for now, visited his wife last week too. As for King Charles, Buckingham Palace had announced the plan for his treatment last week, emphasizing that his condition was not serious. While Kensington Palace has kept Princess Kate’s ailment rather hushed, Buckingham Palace has been very open about King Charles’ illness hoping to make a positive impact through it.

The crown’s attempts to bring awareness to the king’s medical issue

When Buckingham Palace first announced the treatment and subsequent rest that King Charles would go through for his enlarged prostate, they did so in a refreshingly unique manner. The statement began by highlighting how “thousands of men each year” undergo the same procedure that King Charles is going to soon. By shedding light on the widespread affliction, the crown removed the stigma placed on such delicate matters. 

Such open statements, in turn, encourage people to seek medical help at the right time considering that a large population of elderly men tend to suffer the same fate according to statistics. In contrast to the way Buckingham Palace approached this matter, Kensington Palace provided very bare details of Princess Kate’s illness. So far, it has not been made public what concern led to the 42-year-old’s surgery.
