Keke Palmer Alleges ‘Dean Office’ Behavior From Ryan Murphy, Leaving Fans Agitated
In Hollywood, teamwork and collaboration are the twin engines driving every artistic endeavor. When it comes to chemistry, the one that brews between an actor and a director is far more crucial than any on-screen romance. While this synergy has powered blockbusters, only some duos are destined for such a dynamic or artistic alignment. Tension on set may not derail a project outright but occasionally ripples out as seen recently when Keke Palmer called out Ryan Murphy’s dean-office behavior, prompting fans to question him.
In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Keke Palmer opened up about a not-so-positive Tinseltown anecdote she shares in her upcoming memoir, Master of Me: The Secret to Controlling Your Narrative. Reflecting on filming two seasons of Scream Queens, the Fox series, Palmer recalled when Ryan Murphy dubbed her “unprofessional” for not showing up on set during one of her off days. Palmer reportedly reviewed her shooting schedule early to take care of another obligation on an off day.

On that very day, production informed Keke Palmer that she was needed on set. However, the actor's decision to pursue her prior obligation led to a stormy phone call when Ryan Murphy allegedly “ripped” into her, making her feel like she was in the “dean’s office.” Palmer shared how the director apologized later but a co-star intervened to make things worse, but she believes the incident may have prevented her from regularly collaborating with Murphy like the other actors on the project.
For fans, the incident was quite infuriating and, as a result, raised many eyebrows online.
Keke Palmer’s on-set dispute with Ryan Murphy has fans divulging an advisory session
In Tinseltown’s ever-expansive history, there have been many directors who butted heads with actors and vice versa. And for cinephiles, these fallout reports are only normal. However, with Keke Palmer’s revelation about the on-set incident involving Ryan Murphy while filming Scream Queens, fans have gathered online to pitch in for the star.
Some took a swipe at Murphy, calling him uninformed and unaware of ordinary things like a day off. Others advised him to take a chill pill instead of the bitter ones he gave Palmer on set.

A few folks empathized with Palmer, knowing the experience must have been “tough” as an actor because this kind of meltdown often has ripple effects lasting far and wide. However, with her fans waving the flag of support, one thing is clear, even though she may not have had someone to take her side. Now she does, and it shows.
