After that, the Wick universe seems to grow with the addition of incredibly talented Ana de Armas as Ballerina. Slated for a release in 2025, the movie has been making buzz since the announcement and has the fans desperately waiting after the trailer drop. But Armas is not the only leading face of the Wick franchise anymore.

Once again ready to take you on an adventure, Keanu Reeves is returning as his vastly famous hitman role of John Wick in a prequel movie, only this time you will see him in anime. As the film gets a green light, here is everything you need to know about it.

It has just been confirmed by Adam Fogelson, chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, that a John Wick prequel anime movie is in the works, and Keanu Reeves will be returning for his titular role. The announcement was made at CinemaCon. Fogelson will be developing the movie, which does not have a title at the moment. Currently, in the cast, only Keanu Reeves is confirmed at the moment.

About the anime nature of the movie, the production house executive Adam Fogelson has said, “In both animation and the world of John Wick, the possibilities are endless". He added, And there is no John Wick story fans are clamoring for more than the Impossible Task."

While the fans have to wait some more to learn who will be in the cast besides Reeves, they can certainly get to know the plot of the anime.

The neo-noir action thriller film series kicked off back in 2014 when Keanu Reeves, an extremely fine and talented hitman, went on to avenge his dog, which was killed. A storyline found odd yet entertaining by many. For its debut animated version, we will be taken back again to the High Table and see Wick charged with the impossible tasks.

He will be granted one night to finish the job, and then he gets free and gets to spend the rest of his life with his wife, Helen. Executive Fogelson is depending upon the director Shannon and is excited to see how he treats the story. But when is it getting released?

It is evident that a Keanu Reeves fan who hears this news will be excited and will look forward to the release date, but they will have to wait some more as Lionsgate has not made any announcement regarding when the movie will release.

All we know is that some talented names are attached as writers: Vanessa Taylor, credited for Divergent and The Shape of Water, and other big projects will be working on the project. With Reeves in the lead and a talented crew attached, the wait will be worth it.
