Before the streaming surge swept viewers away, weekends were often reserved for James Cameron’s 1997 masterpiece, Titanic. Even now, when the film resurfaces in conversations, Rose’s unforgettable line, “Draw me like one of your French girls,” effortlessly lives rent-free in minds. Kate Winslet, who embodied grace and the heartache of unrequited love, became the tragic muse for audiences across decades. Kate Winslet recently appeared for an interview with 60 Minutes where a clip from E! was played. In the snippet, the on-air host reportedly highlighted how Winslet looked “a little melted and poured” into a dress she donned during Titanic’s award season before suggesting she “needed two sizes larger” to be okay. Winslet fought back her tears before exclaiming how abundantly “appalling” the entire trend of press bullying had been over her weight after Titanic.

“What kind of a person must they be to do something like that to a young actress who’s just trying to figure it out?” Winslet retrospected, looking back at the 20-year-old Rose who had gotten the big break of her career. However, the actor was never one to back down, and playing tit-for-tat, she stood up to the press at an event for bullying her. Not only that, she even confessed to confronting the press, hoping that the memory “haunts” them forever.
