Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s rocky history with the royal family is no secret. For years, the tabloids have feasted on every little hint of drama between the two sides, especially after the Sussexes made the bold move to America, leaving their royal duties behind. But now it looks like the trail of royal drama had started even before the Duke and Duchess tied the knot in 2018. 

According to a report from Omid Scobie’s explosive book, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s early ‘gutting’ experience stemmed from Kate Middleton’s family and some of the protocols they had to follow when they were just starting to date.

Back in the day, when the media was all over the prince and actress love story, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended Pippa Middleton’s wedding in 2017. As Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand wrote in their book Finding Freedom, reported by Mirror, the Princess of Wales’ sister had a strict seating plan at her wedding reception that kept couples apart. As a result, Prince Harry found himself sitting next to ITV News at Ten presenter Tom Bradby, while Meghan Markle sat at a separate table with Roger Federer’s wife, Mirka. 

The couple later reunited near the dance floor after the meal, and by the end of the evening, they were spending time together. Meghan Markle even skipped the wedding ceremony at the church, worried it might steal attention from the newlyweds, and only attended the reception. And if the rumors are to be believed, the tension between Markle and Middleton is only growing.

A source recently claimed that Meghan Markle has some "major issues" with Kate Middleton. 

In recent months, especially after King Charles and Kate Middleton fell ill, Prince Harry has been working on rebuilding his relationship with the royal family. Earlier this year, The Daily Mirror even reported that Prince William and Kate Middleton had invited the sussex couple to bring their children to the UK to heal the rift between the two families. However, it is alleged that Markle is not very happy with this.

According to a source for Closer, Prince Harry reconnecting with his UK roots is making Meghan Markle uneasy, mainly because of her "major issues" with Kate Middleton. The former actress allegedly feels more settled with Prince Harry by her side in the US, and she is said to believe that his spending time with the UK family will only pull him back into the royal drama.
