Three years have passed since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the paradigm-shifting decision to step out from their royal cocoon, jolting the entire world into a ball of contradicting opinions. Everyone but the official royal website. Maybe they saw it coming or maybe there was hope for his return, but the official website of the royal family had not robbed Prince Harry of the title of ‘His Royal Highness’. But all of this changed, as King Charles announces military appointments for working members of the royal family.

The reign of King Charles seems to be unforgiving to the royals who have abandoned their work while awarding the working members of the clan selflessly. And despite the backdrop of a royal feud, Prince Harry and Kate Middleton have stepped up to display these contrasting dynamics with their royal titles.

Prince Harry’s diminishing titles and Kate Middleton’s ascending honors

It has been a point proven numerous times that Kate Middleton and Prince Harry are no more on the same side. But just how different the paths they have chosen in their lives sinks in when you look at the titles that King Charles has chosen for them. In the recent reshuffling of the honorary military titles held by working royals, Kate Middleton has emerged as a winner with three new titles.

Kate Middleton may only now be experiencing the full glory of her royal position, having been appointed as the Commodore-in-Chief of the Fleet Air Arm, Colonel-in-Chief of the 1st Queen’s Dragoon Guards, and Royal Honorary Air Commodore of Royal Air Force Coningsby. All while Prince Harry does not even get to enjoy ‘His Royal Higness’.

The contrast between the Californian royal and his estranged British family will be more evident as he joins Prince William in Singapore, with the latter taking over one of his desired military titles.

Did Prince Harry lose to Prince William again?

In the ongoing tally of the royal sibling rivalry, the score currently stands as: Prince Harry – 0, Prince William – 1. The Prince of Wales has been bestowed with the title of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps, which was Prince Harry’s former unit. Although not a colonel himself, the Spare author was a great asset to the unit. But he was stripped of all his military titles, upon embarking on Megxit.

By willingly exiling himself as a Prince in a faraway land, the Californian royal solely holds the title of the Duke of Sussex. That too, consistently remains in jeopardy. While he has stated that the royal family, namely his brother and King Charles, have cut all ties with him, Prince Harry still remains on great terms with the military through the Invictus Games.
