Stranger Things season 4 was undoubtedly one of the most defining seasons ever. The sci-fi thriller on Netflix took the audience through a roller coaster of emotions. Spanning over two volumes, it was easy for the plot to go haywire, but the Duffer Brothers’ creators took the challenge and made it the best of all worlds. While the series was not short on iconic scenes, one of the most shocking moments of the series was Eddie Munson’s death. 

Perhaps one of the most devastating deaths, Munson’s demise was sad but far from a surprise. While fans are still recovering from the loss, it seems like Joseph Quinn has a plan in mind for Eddie’s possible return. 

Joseph Quinn on bringing Eddie Munson back in Stranger Things season 5

Stranger Things season 5 has been a long time coming. Fans worldwide have been eager to witness the season finale for months now. Amidst all the hype surrounding season 5, Joseph Quinn previously discussed Eddie’s possible return. In conversation with Radio Times, the actor revealed that he and Joe Keery, who plays Steve Harrington, discussed bringing back Munson in the season finale. The duo shared the idea of Munson popping up as a figment in his friend Dustin’s imagination. 

While the idea may seem peculiar to some, this would not be the first time something like that would happen. Back in season 3, Joyce has a brief moment where she thinks she is happily watching Cheers on TV with Bob, only for her to realize that she is alone in reality. The scene came off as a real stab-in-the-heart moment for the audience.

Meanwhile, the creators could have a much stronger impact on the audience if they pull off a similar scene with Munson. Whilst Quinn surely wants to return to the season finale, he is still satisfied, even if it does not happen.

Joseph Quinn is extremely satisfied with Munson’s arc

Eddie Munson brought a vibe full of sarcasm and humor to the show. Owing to the life he brought into the series, his death was the most defining moment of the series. However, despite having a short run in the series, Quinn had an exciting view of the character’s death. 

The actor revealed in his interview that he was extremely grateful for the arc the creators had for Munson. Quinn admitted it to be the noblest ending one could ask for. In addition to his huge sacrifice, Munson’s death surely raised the bar for the show’s finale. While the actor’s return is up in the air, anything can happen in season 5.
