Joseph Quinn of ‘Stranger Things’ to Join $1.6 Billion Franchise, Cast as a ‘Brand New’ Character in the Story
The Stranger Things fandom is quite used to their favorite characters passing away. They are pretty lucky since they have so many characters in the series in the first place! One of those who met their fate in season 4 was Eddie Munson. Played by Joseph Quinn, not only does he bring energy to every scene, but also warmth through his friendship with Dustin. Unfortunately, he died saving the very people who had despised him in the beginning.
But this is not the end of Quinn’s fame. The actor seems to have caught the eyes of a $1.6 billion franchise.

All of Hollywood and its fans are familiar with the stellar performances Matt Damon has served his audience with. From Martian to Ford V Ferrari, the actor aces all his characters. One of the most famous franchises he was the face of is the Jason Bourne films. Having starred in three films, the actor stepped down when Paul Greengrass stepped down as the director. And in the recent news by Giant Freakin Robot, the Upside Down hero has joined the almost two billion dollars worth franchise. While he won’t be starring in Damon’s Bourne world, the 29-year-old British actor will be joining as a new character to the plotline.
This film is set to be a “reboot” film of the novel-based Bourne films. Joining as a younger character, he will come along with a “new intelligence team.” In addition, the CIA’s fake organization Treadstone will not be the only organization in the story. Moreover, it will also mark the third collaboration between the Deadpool 2 director David Leich and Iron Man 3 writer Drew Pearce.

While Damon called it quits, he did not exactly put a complete full stop on returning. But this upcoming reboot is reported to carry on without the Good Will Hunting actor. That is a risky avenue. While Quinn will definitely bring a lot to the movie, a film without the main face seems to be a dicey risk. Both Bourne Legacy and Treadstone performed shyly at the box office, not living up to the success Damon attracted.
But Quinn is not the one to shy out from new ideas, as the British actor even once revealed the plan he cooked up to bring back his deceased character in the Upside Down universe. The upcoming Universal Studios reboot’s attempt to bring on a new character might turn out to be a successful attempt at moving away from Damon’s legacy.
