Jonathan Majors Returning for 'Avengers: Doomsday'? Fans Are Excited Yet Unfazed as Latest Rumors Take Air

The entire remainder of the multiverse saga was in limbo after Jonathan Majors left the MCU and his popular character, Kang the Conqueror. And understandably, given after Thanos, Kang was supposed to be the primary villain of the Avengers. However, while the entire fandom was imagining actors who could take up the mantle of Kang after Majors’ departure, it seems the MCU has already given up on the search.

It turns out there is no better candidate in the MCU’s eyes to play Kang than Jonathan Majors himself. Recently, it has been reported by the popular X insider, MyTimeToShineHello, that the Loki star is stepping back into his role in Avengers: Doomsday- as Kang. Majors was let go by Marvel back in December due to personal legal issues, which pushed the MCU to look for a new major antagonist in its Avengers universe.

The anticipated Avengers film soon changed its name from Avengers: The Kang Dynasty to Avengers: Doomsday. Instead of Kang, Doctor Doom was announced as the next big bad guy in the MCU, played by none other than former Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. Majors even told TMZ he was “heartbroken” over the news. However, his rumored return as Kang has sparked some pretty confusing reactions from fans.

The response is neither all-out excitement nor total dismissal, and the mixed reactions are pretty worrying if the rumor turns out to be true.

Fans are perplexed by Jonathan Majors' MCU comeback in Avengers: Doomsday

No matter how great a celebrity is at their job, their personal life always holds a heavy influence on how fans perceive them. And even one controversy can hit their career like a sledgehammer that would leave a lasting dent in it (Blake Lively is living proof of it at the moment). This is exactly what may have happened with Jonathan Majors as well. While fans were thrilled to see Majors making a grand return to the franchise, it seems some could not believe that MCU just shook off the shadows of controversy that have hovered over his personal life.

Many fans, in fact, refused to believe in the report, since Hollywood is not as forgiving as one may think.

While Jonathan Majors’ rumored comeback has sparked mixed feelings, Robert Downey Jr.’s return in the MCU has not exactly been met with open arms either. Despite the undeniable talent of the Oscar-winning actor, the leap from Iron Man to Doctor Doom, along with a paycheck big enough to fund the entire Guardians of the Galaxy squad, has left many feeling unsettled.
