Jennifer Aniston Raises Her Voice Against Animal Cruelty In Los Angeles
Beyond her reputation as the highest-paid actress and a Hollywood evergreen diva, Jennifer Aniston is also known for her philanthropy efforts. One cause that she champions fervently is animal rescue. Recently, the actress threw her weight behind A Purposeful Rescue, a non-profit rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters in Los Angeles and serving Southern California. She re-shared a story on the shelter’s Instagram page to draw attention to the shelter dealing with 500 dogs in tightly packed kennels due to limited space.
This has also resulted in fights among the animals. Jennifer Aniston captioned the post saying, “These conditions are inhumane. Heartbreaking“. Aniston further tagged LA Animal Services on the story, calling on them to roll up their sleeves and rescue these dogs from their cramped quarters, ensuring they get the pick of the litter in terms of living conditions. But this was not the only time Aniston has let out a voice for the rights of animals.

She has consistently been in the corner of charities supporting dogs/cats and has also made her voice heard loud and clear against the dolphin slaughter in Japan. During her marriage to Justin Theroux, an advocate for a Texas-based animal rescue organization that has made a significant impact in saving dogs, Aniston actively collaborated with him. However, her dedication to the cause of rescuing dogs first gained the spotlight during her breakthrough show, Friends.
While being a part of the Friends cast, the actress encountered a dog in a distressing situation, and Aniston, with her well-known golden-hearted nature, responded just as one might have expected.
Jennifer Aniston got a tattoo of her dog’s name on her foot
In Friends, Jennifer Aniston encountered Norman, a dog with a knack for performing on both TV and in movies. Due to his occasional refusal to follow commands, he was not a highly sought-after dog in the industry. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Aniston adopted Norman and formed a strong with him. Their bond grew deep, and Aniston experienced profound heartbreak when Norman passed away from old age in 2011. To immortalize him, Aniston marked her foot with her first-ever tattoo of Norman’s name.

Since welcoming Norman into her life, Aniston extended her family by adopting many other dogs. When she married Justin Theroux in 2015, they chose a home wedding to include their dogs in the celebration. Additionally, the actress also actively supports the “adopt, don’t shop” movement, advocating for the adoption of dogs from shelters rather than purchasing them from pet stores or breeders. Given such commitment, it is understandable why her heart cried for the 500 dogs at A Purposeful Rescue Shelter.
