During the promotions for the movie, the actress sat down for an interview with Paul Fischer for Girl magazine. After talking about the emotional flick for a bit, the interviewer asked whether the star found it difficult to land projects that creatively fulfilled her. While she agreed that it was “hard,” the actress believed that she had “been lucky.”

Aniston continued by saying that it was “rare” to find a project that “hit all the right notes.” However, she added that her collaboration with Wilson had been a “home run.” With the film checking all the actresses’ boxes, it is no wonder that it wound up becoming a blockbuster hit when it was released at the end of 2008. While it might be one of her best pieces of work, the tragic pet lover story seems to have been forgotten.

In 2008, just 4 years after Friends, Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson took over Hollywood with their team-up for Marley & Me. It told the story of a young newlywed couple starting their life together with a puppy, Marley. While the dog might have destroyed everything in the house and almost ruined their marriage, the couple realized that he, too, was part of their growing family.

Although the film had a rather sad ending with the dog’s life coming to an end, the film ended up grossing $247.8 million worldwide after its release. With the movie bringing in twice what it cost to make it, it ended up being one of Aniston’s best-grossing films.
