When she first rose to fame with Friends, Jennifer Aniston was instantly declared the ‘It Girl’ of 90s Hollywood. After a decades-long career in the entertainment industry, she not only cemented her place among the greats of cinema and television but also made many friends in the industry along the way. Some among her close circle apparently began to call her Mamma. 

The touching nickname is a reflection of a certain aspect of her. Well, the person who revealed this fact also delved into how this special title came to be. 

Why is Jennifer Aniston called Mamma?

In 2020, the Friends star was placed in the Hello magazine’s Kind list. For the feature, her old friend and make-up artist, Angela Levin revealed her Mamma nickname to Hello via The People. According to her, the Murder Mystery actress oozes such “kindness, generosity” and “love” that when those around her think of her, they are reminded of “family”. So, the title that refers to her nurturing nature just comes naturally to them.

She went on to explain how not only she but “all the amazing women around” Aniston refer to her by this endearing name. Not only ‘Mamma’ but Aniston herself once revealed another name designated to her. Apparently, some among her Californian clan used to refer to her as Lola. This nickname went on to become the basis of her haircare company’s brand name, LolaVie. 

Besides these two, there are other labels the 54-year-old has received from fellow celebrities of Tinseltown.

Aniston has more adorable nicknames

Among the many Hollywood luminaries Aniston has crossed paths with, Adam Sandler is certainly one name that has consistently appeared next to Aniston’s for decades. The long-time friends have not only shared screen space but also a lasting close bond. However, the most adorable aspect of their friendship is the nickname ‘Anaburger’ that Sandler reserves for her! In return, she granted him the tag of ‘Sandalman’. 

Besides Sandler, another old friend of hers, Jennifer Garner also revealed how she beckons the Friends sensation. Apparently, her chosen title for her fellow Jennifer-named A-lister is Jenny! Meanwhile, her Friends co-star, Courteney Cox’s daughter, calls Aniston ‘Noona’. Since the 54-year-old is the godmother of Cox’s only child, the Greek word for the role became another one of Aniston’s many nicknames.
