At the event, Aniston opted for a chic and timeless approach, dazzling on the red carpet in a fitted black strapless gown- and if the dress looked familiar, that was because it bore a striking resemblance to Aniston’s 2010 Golden Globes gown, designed by Valentino.

Aniston brought back the same dress on The Morning Show as well. According to Debra McGuire, a costume designer for the show, it was Aniston’s idea to resurrect the iconic dress from 13 years ago. The designer revealed in an interview with People that even with various dress options available during the fitting, Aniston insisted on wearing the very dress she had adorned at the Golden Globes 2010. McGuire also styled Aniston in her breakthrough show, Friends.

Reflecting on a decade of working together every day on Friends, McGuire described the experience as a warm family reunion. However, she made it clear that this time around, the circumstances were as different as night and day.

Alex Levy’s character was the antithesis of the iconic Rachel Green. And therefore, their style was very different as well. However, McGuire revealed that certain aspects of Aniston’s character remained unaltered. This included Alex’s penchant for luxury, the consistent color scheme, and Aniston’s personal fashion touch. And the luxurious black outfit, a recurrent choice in Aniston’s wardrobe, is also one of her timeless favorites that also remained unaltered.
