The queen of oddity, Jenna Ortega, has been quite in demand since the success of Netflix’s Wednesday. Unsurprisingly, the 20-year-old has films lined up one after the other. As her ongoing project with Winona Ryder and Tim Burton is nearing its final stages, fans await news of her future projects. For her next movie, it is confirmed that Ortega will be seen in the role of a daughter opposite an A-lister. She will be seen boarding a flight to Central Europe for the same soon.

Following the story of a father-daughter duo, the ‘scream queen’ will be starring in an indie film called Death of a Unicorn. The dark comedy will be centered around the duo and their unconventional encounter with a unicorn. Set in Hungarian landscapes, this movie will see Ortega on this twisted adventure with none other than a Marvel actor.

Also gracing the screen with his comedic presence alongside Ortega will be Paul Rudd. The Friends actor seems to have taken a liking to eccentric supernatural comedies. After a stellar portrayal of Mr. Grooberson in Ghostbusters: Afterlife and this next movie to come, Rudd will have surely mastered this niche. After the mixed reviews received by his latest release, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, he has a lot to prove and the perfect project to do so with.

Death of a Unicorn is backed by a rising name in the indie movie scene, A24 Films. The production house is most known for award-winning gems like Everything Everywhere All at Once and Lady Bird. Being an independent production house, A24 is not a part of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. Hence, SAG-AFTRA has approved its production despite the actors’ strike in motion.

Luckily for Ortega and Rudd, the filming of Death of a Unicorn will stay on track, but the Wednesday star’s Beetlejuice 2 will not be sharing the same luck. This indeed is disheartening, as fans will have to wait a lot to see Ryder play Ortega’s mother and see her getting hitched.

30 years after its prequel, Beetlejuice 2 is all set to make a comeback with its sequel directed by Tim Burton. The quirky comedy announced its star-studded cast features some big industry names. These include Winona Ryder, Michael Keaton, Jenna Ortega, and Monica Bellucci. The recent footage from the movie showed Ortega getting married in front of Ryder.

It seems like fans may have to wait longer for the much-awaited sequel as the SAG-AFTRA strike has reportedly halted the movie’s production. After his successful stint with Ortega in Wednesday, Burton has fans eager to catch a glimpse of the Wednesday actress in the sequel. But as the strike continues to slow down projects, it seems like Hollywood could use some help of its own.
