In the Thick of Writers’ Strike, Superman Fans Get This Crucial Update About the James Gunn-Led Film
James Gunn is perhaps riding the highs of a true superhero! His Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 has received a plethora of happy nods from the critics, finely tuning Gunn’s departure from the MCU. However, as one chapter is closed, the writer-producer has already begun on another beautiful and rewarding journey as the new CEO of DC Universe alongside Peter Safran. And, it is no news that they are shaking up things at the studio from its roots.
In the process, the very first movie that got affected in a rather disheartening way was Snyderverse’s Superman. To much of fans’ disappointment, Henry Cavill had to leave his Superman duties and the red and blue cape for someone else to take over. Who is that? Well, we do not know yet. However, according to the latest updates, the Pearl star David Corenswet or Nicholas Hoult may be the potential Clark Kent for the generations to come.

But that is not all! We have yet another crucial piece of information to share with you all. Gunn has apparently announced that his film, Superman: Legacy will start filming in the very first month of 2024, per the Wired Autocomplete interview. But there’s a little iceberg for fans of the big, blue Boy Scout: we do not know if Gunn will be able to keep his promise to release the gig in 2025 or not. The reason, if you are wondering, is quite obvious: The Writers’ Strike!

He has hence stepped down from his duties at the moment. We have no reports as to when the OTT platforms, the production houses, and the Writers Association will come to terms and everything will get back to normal.

However, the silver lining in all of this is that he will be able to tweak his story per the reception they get from the other movies.
