Jaden Smith has been a connoisseur of fashion and everything sustainability. The ‘Icon’ singer truly does hold true to his song titles. While many dabble in music and fashion, very few go hand-in-hand with sustainability. But the son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith does just that. He showed an interest in being more conscious at a very young age, owing to the developments and awareness we all gained as climate change gained traction. And in an attempt to be more environmentally friendly, he often collaborates with brands that have a similar eco-conscious goal in mind. 

In a recent Harper Collective post on its sustainable line, we saw this Karate Kid actor show support and leave a one-word reaction.

The actor recently reposted a post from Harper Collective on his stories. The brand showcased their new sustainable travel luggage bag in the post. And we saw the rapper leave a comment with a simple “yes.” This minimalist one-word response showed his support for the product. The bag, called Ghost 30 is a handmade luggage bag from the brand that is made of 40% post-consumer plastic and 30% marine plastic. This recycled uses Sea Plastic polymer HDPE shell and understandably contributes to adopting more environmentally friendly choices. 

The Entergalatic star does not just limit himself to conscious purchases but adapts them to his business too. The MSFTS owner laid plans for his sustainable line back in 2021, and continues to stick by it. His gender-neutral fashion line made faux leather apparel, with Smith’s interest in vegan leather production in Italy. 

Along with supporting others and his personal brand, this American actor cum entrepreneur has collaborated with other brands too. 

The continued pursuit of environmental consciousness by Jaden Smith

The 25-year-old collaborated with New Balance in 2020 for a vegan sneakers piece. In 2022, he will participate in Levis’s “Buy Better, Wear Longer” campaign, which promotes mindful shopping. That same year, he was named an ‘Environmental Champion’ by the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability.

His most recent collaboration in 2023 includes a partnership with Samsung. As part of his MSFTSrep collection, his designs contributed to Samsung’s accessories, promoting consciously sourced materials and recycled packaging. The actor has several proofs of his support and active participation in the environmentally conscious movement.
