In the last couple of days, <a href="https://www.netflixjunkie.com/tag/jada-pinkett-smith/">Jada Pinkett Smith</a> and <a href="https://www.netflixjunkie.com/tag/will-smith/">Will Smith</a> have once again become the talk of Tinseltown. This has come about because of some explosive interviews that the former recently gave that revealed the heart-breaking truth about their marriage. Despite what they were projecting earlier, the couple had apparently separated seven whole years ago. Of course, their fans would demand an explanation as to why they did not just get a divorce. Also, why would they still refuse to do so?
Now, the Red Table Talk host has finally unveiled the reason behind their bizarre decision.
<h2>Why did Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith not get legally divorced?</h2>
While speaking to TODAY&#8217;s Hoda Kotb, Jada spoke on a range of reasons as to why their relationship ended and why they chose to keep it all a secret. Amidst the conversation, she spoke about how she made a promise to her husband that no “reason” would justify them parting ways. Regardless of the growing distance between them, she wanted to keep working on their relationship. Ultimately, the actress confessed to being “unable” to break that one promise.

This would lead to the Bad Boys actor’s outburst on the night of the Academy Awards, too. Now, fans are left questioning why he even slapped the comedian if he and his wife were stuck in limbo, anyway.

Besides these baffling developments, Jada also spoke of the love they once shared that led to such devotion.
<h2>The initial ‘intoxication’ of their relationship</h2>
When promoting her upcoming memoir, Worthy, the matriarch of the Smith family household, teased another tale of their love. Apparently, her book will also delve into the different stages of their relationship. In the beginning, <a href="https://www.netflixjunkie.com/hollywood-news-jada-pinkett-smith-recalls-being-intoxicated-by-will-smith-as-he-took-the-spot-of-her-drugs-when-they-first-met/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the 52-year-old even confessed to being so obsessed with the new love</a> between them that she even &#8220;abandoned&#8221; her mental health. As somebody who battled with depression on and off, she was on medication, which she stopped taking.

It is evident from the way she spoke of her once-strong relationship, that the flames between the duo were quite strong once. However difficult, they attempted to mend their relationship because of this. Although Jada Pinkett Smith has still not revealed if they will now officially separate or not, they seem to have made their peace with the lost battle. Or maybe they simply continue to keep that promise.
