After keeping Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith‘s relationship as the set benchmark for years, those days are now officially over. A few years ago, they were one of Hollywood’s power couples. However, the Matrix star decided to end the illusion recently. While the world may have preferred living in a delusion, she ended up spilling the beans on their marriage. From the separation rumors to her connection with the late Tupac, she was on a spree of truthtelling.

After shocking the world with her revelations about the couple being separated, she just ended up pointing out why she could not divorce the Oscar winner.

In an interview with Hoda Kotb, the 52-year-old actress discussed her upcoming memoir, Worthy, her marriage and so much more. She also disclosed that she and Will had been separated since 2016. Many have since then wondered the reason for it. And now, on the Jay Shetty Podcast, when the host read a letter from Will about his wife’s memoir, Jada shared the reason. “that’s why I can’t divorce that joker,” referring to his humorous side.

In the letter, Will wrote “welcome to the authors club” after saying that he loves her endlessly. His letter ended by telling her to “go get some Merlot and take a rest.” As soon as Shetty finished reading the letter, Jada burst out laughing. She got a little teary-eyed and even called the letter “beautiful.” Although their dynamic might not work for everyone, it certainly seems to work for them.

While Will Smith’s letter may have stolen the show, it was written to Jada after he had finished reading her upcoming book, Worthy. In fact, the revelations all began coming out during the author’s promotion of the book.
