The best part is the film is set to release on December 13th, 2024. So, thankfully the world will not have to wait too long to witness Jackie Chan’s unparalleled martial arts expertise.
While the announcement gave fans one more reason to wait for 2024’s arrival, it also brought another surprise from the actors along with it.

In a post to the Sony Pictures Entertainment channel on YouTube, the martial arts expert and Macchio also revealed that they will be looking for the next karate-obsessed child to take up The Karate Kid role. While the last one to play the child was Jaden Smith, the son of Will Smith is now far too old to take up the franchise’s lead role. According to Chan, this news was even bigger than them reprising their roles.
It will be a global search for the next child worthy of carrying that title. However, with the film coming out in a year’s time, many seem unsure about whether it will stay the same if the casting is beginning only now. While there is no way of saying how this could play out, one thing is for sure. It will be incredible to see who will end up in the titular role.
