Superhero aficionados were heartbroken when Henry Cavill hung up his Superman cape and said farewell to the character he has played since 2013. The devastating news came after James Gunn and Peter Safran took up the responsibility of designing a new DC universe. Respecting the decisions of the new heads, Cavill stepped away from the iconic position. But the actor had repeatedly demonstrated that his relationship with the red cape superhero was more than just a fictional one.
An old interview of the actor and how he hyped up fans for more Superman adventures is a testament of the same. Although these expectations never bore any fruits, they have contributed greatly to the actor’s popularity now.

Henry Cavill had himself stated on multiple occasions that playing Geralt of Rivia was like a dream come true. This also made many fans of his Superman era get déjà vu. He went on to say that the thrill of playing such detailed parts and reading about them is something he really enjoyed. However, this dream was cut short when the actor abruptly announced his departure via his official Instagram account in 2022. This was allegedly due to creative differences between the show’s makers and Cavill.
The actor is a huge fan of both the games and the original books of Andrzej Sapkowski’s books. During an interview for The Witcher: Unlocked in 2021, the actor talked extensively about season 3 of the fantasy series. He further stated that he wanted the show to remain “true to the books.” As the actor has now retired from The Witcher and also as Superman, fans look at these interviews in a whole new light.
