Henry Cavill had his time as Clark Kent. Now, the new DC boss, James Gunn, has picked Superman up to bring him back with a new perspective. While the DC fans have their own doubts about Superman: Legacy, the American director has a statement for them.

Not so long ago, fans could not wait to see The Witcher star wearing his red cape once again. But on the contrary, the British actor had to put it down forever. Now, the cape has been passed on to David Corenswet. While fans are concerned about the addition of new characters in the story, the 56-year-old reveals his plan for the film. The Guardians of the Galaxy director wrote, “I’ve never used one movie to set up another movie.” To assure them more, he added the new characters were there only because they helped tell the story.

While with the new faces of Clark Kent and Lois Lane, the upcoming DC film is moving into production, Gunn also introduced new cast members. He made it clear his intention was not to create more films based on those characters. In addition to safeguarding fans’ sentiments for Superman and Lois, Gunn gave them the assurance that the super-couple would be the sole protagonists in the upcoming DC film.
