When Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought Wrexham AFC in 2021, it was decided that the club would get a lot of global attention. Following their recent promotion after a lot of hard work, Wrexham AFC has come a long way. However, the reason behind their grand success lies in the treatment of the players and non-players by Hollywood celebrities. One more Wrexham FC player recently talked about how the duo helped him on a personal level after joining the team.

Ollie Palmer is a star player of Wrexham AFC. When he moved to Wrexham, he was struggling to find a place to live. As Mirror reported, one day, the Wrexham AFC owners invited Palmer and showed them around. They asked him if he could stay for the Manchester United game as well. Palmer soon found himself hanging out with Hollywood celebrities. As Palmer started to leave, Reynolds and McElhenney asked him if Palmer would like to join them for dinner. Interestingly, what changed the player’s life was just an invitation to stay the night instead of going back to his hotel room.

Apart from being a Wrexham player, Palmer owns a clothing business as well, WXM Clothing. After founding the clothing line, Palmer knew he was signing up for something bigger. And with that, his brand is now all set to go global. But doing the same has not been that easy: it has been stressful for the player as he told Mirror. However, his meeting with the duo helped him feel less stressed as they generously offered him a helping hand. “No matter how well the clothing brand does, I’ve made friends for life. They’ve become family,” said Palmer.

When the 31-year-old player moved to Wrexham, he moved alone. His wife and kids were still back at their Surrey home. Therefore, finding support from the owners of the club boosted his morale. If this was not enough, Reynolds took it upon his shoulders to go the extra mile to show Palmer that he believes in his clothing line.

Palmer shared with the Mirror that once the 46-year-old actor FaceTimed him when he was in Vegas. The player noticed that the Vancouver-born actor was wearing his label’s clothes as he went out to get his breakfast. This was not the only time when Reynolds flaunted the WXM Clothing’s attire. When he was in the UK, he posted a picture of himself wearing the WXM Clothing as well. Expressing his happiness, Palmer said he was so grateful and delighted to know these celebrities on a personal level.

Not only Palmer, but many players have opened up about how the owners of the club are generous and supportive to the team members. And Palmer has also admitted the same. In the interview with Mirror, he said that the duo would go above and beyond to support the team. They know and understand the struggles the players go through and try to be as cheerful as they can.
