“It’s kind of like a stunt coordinator, but for s*x scenes,” – When Sydney Sweeney Revealed the Major Help She Had Shooting Intimate Scenes in ‘Euphoria’
Sydney Sweeney has always been very outspoken about everything she does. Be it her small-town life or the explicit scenes she does on screen, she has always kept her point with full confidence. The 25-year-old has done quite a few n*de scenes and gained a lot of traction through them, although everybody knows that she is so much more than that. But how she feels doing such scenes is a question the actress encounters almost every time.
Last year in June, the Euphoria actress did an interview with famous actress Christiana Ricci. And since last year saw the release and the hype of Euphoria season 2, it was only natural that Ricci asked her about the intimate scenes she filmed for the show. What she meant to say is that everybody who filmed explicit scenes in the show did so with such ease that they did not look forced. She questioned Sweeney about the reason behind this.

In her reply, the 25-year-old said that she feels very lucky to work at a time when the makers put so much thought into the process. She was glad that there were intimacy coordinators on the set to modulate the scenes, which instantly made Ricci wonder what they are like since she has never worked with one. Apparently, the Euphoria actress had a very easy way to explain the term to Ricci. She said in the Actors on Actors segment of Variety, “It’s kind of like a stunt coordinator but for s*x scenes.”
Although, the one-line explanation of their role is not the only thing she spoke about.

Sydney Sweeney gave Ricci an elaborate description of intimacy coordinators
The White Lotus actress said that the intimacy coordinators were a huge help on set. She revealed that they would choreograph the whole scene and make the actors as comfortable as possible. They would bring tools such as yoga mats, mints, and yoga blocks to help the actors. This made the whole shooting process so much easier, which resulted in an impactful scene.

The best part of having them is not the choreography but the emotional support the actors receive. Sweeney said that even after discussing and rehearsing the whole sequence, the coordinators used to ask the actors once again on the spot whether they were comfortable doing this. Moreover, they would act as a bridge between the actors and directors about a scene if the actor was uncomfortable saying it directly to the director.
Overall, the actress was thankful to have intimacy coordinators on the set. What are your thoughts about this extra help actors receive? Tell us in the comments.
