Zendaya recently opened up about the upcoming third season of Euphoria during her chat on Entertainment Weekly’s podcast The Awardist. She confirmed there will be a time jump between the second and third seasons, saying, "It’s important because there’s only so much high school drama you can deal with." Zendaya, who is both a star and executive producer of the show, explained the new season will explore how the childhood experiences and high school struggles shape the characters’ journey into adulthood in a much bigger world.
Even though she confirmed the time jump, Zendaya mentioned that she does not know much about Season Three or its storyline. Still, the Dune star is eager to see how the characters will be handling life beyond the typical high school drama. Earlier this year, some rumors suggested the teen drama might be in jeopardy due to a rumored feud between Zendaya and showrunner Sam Levinson.
A comprehensive exposé from the Hollywood Reporter suggested that the feud seemingly had a lot to do with The Idol.

Zendaya had a lot of respect for Sam Levinson and the fact that her character, Rue Bennett, drew inspiration from the director's own battles with addiction. Sources close to the Euphoria pair revealed that they were previously "thick as thieves". However, their relationship reportedly took a hit when Levinson poured too much time and energy into The Idol, leaving plans for Euphoria Season 3 in limbo.
Zendaya was reportedly frustrated that Levinson had not yet delivered the Season 3 scripts. The actress, therefore, arranged a meeting with HBO executives Casey Bloys and Francesca Orsi to get answers on why the showrunner was allowed to prioritize The Idol over Euphoria. Fast-forward to now, and insiders suggest that Zendaya and Levinson's relationship is on the mend, with the seeds of a new idea- likely the time jump concept- that they believe will resonate for Season 3.
