There are thousands of people that come under the WGA and SAG-AFTRA. A very small number of them can actually make a living for the next few months with no income. Will Smith took to Instagram to break his silence on the topic. He shared a photo with the young generation of actors along with a long and heartfelt message. “It’s a pivotal moment for our profession,” he said referring to the strike. The 54-year-old also thanked his Academy-winning coach Aaron Speiser for supporting him in his younger days.
The strike will determine the future of the upcoming actors and writers, and how they will be compensated for their work. They are fighting for fair pay, usage of their work, basic facilities, and protection against AI. It is the artist groups versus production companies butting heads as Hollywood comes to a standstill.
For projects queued up, this brings an unpredictable amount of halt. This includes Meghan Markle’s upcoming ones with Netflix.

There are speculations that her silence comes from a clashing of interests as the actress has a million-dollar deal with Netflix. She spoke during the Oprah interview about missing her union membership following her marriage to Prince Harry.
