It has been an overwhelming few days for the Friends fans from all over the world. They lost their favorite and ever-charming actor, Matthew Perry, on the 28th of October, 2023. While it was hard for the Chandler Bing fans to cope with the news, it became even harder as they recalled Perry’s unfulfilled dream. The Canadian actor wanted Zac Efron to play him in his biopic.

That Perry wanted a biopic and that he also wanted Zac Efron to star in it, was a revelation that took the world by storm. Now, even Efron has reacted to the same.

Giving both actors’ history of working together in 17 Again, Efron revealed he had the best time of his life with the late actor. When the Entertainment Tonight interviewer brought up Matthew Perry’s wish, the 36-year-old actor admitted to having heard the news. He said, “It’s a huge honor,” followed by praise for Perry. The Baywatch actor said it made him extremely happy to know that Matthew Perry was thinking about him for the role.

The Friends actor wanted to share his story with the world to help them more. Despite it staying unfinished, it made Hollywood stars, including Efron, love Perry even more for his beautiful dream. In the 2009 rom-com film, Zac Efron already portrayed the younger version of Perry’s character. Fortunately, fans loved the duo and their chemistry on screen.

He added, someone who tried to help people in any way he could.

This was one of the main reasons he wrote the memoir, which was already extremely hard for him. However, after getting an unbelievably positive response post the book’s release, he wanted to extend a helping hand by creating his biopic. He wanted to come out into the world as a better person.
