“It’s a group effort” – Ryan Reynolds Celebrates the Third Anniversary of This Initiative With a Humble Message
Much like his on-screen avatar of Deadpool, Ryan Reynolds is known to have a sharp tongue. But don’t let his mean jokes fool you because the man also has the softest of hearts. When he is not juggling his many investments and film projects, he dedicates his remaining time to doing his part in bettering the world. From running a marathon for Parkinson’s disease to raising money for cancer patients, the Canadian actor is keeping with the Canadian tradition of being ‘nice’. Although at this rate, he may just become the poster boy for niceness.
Just this year, the father of four was presented with the Humanitarian Award by the Canadian Academy. He earned the accolade for the work his two creative field initiatives are doing. And one of those very initiatives just turned three!
An initiative that has impacted over a thousand lives

Launched three years ago today, Reynolds pioneered the Group Effort Initiative alongside his wife Blake Lively. In a congratulatory message posted on YouTube, the 46-year-old lists all the milestones they achieved in these three years. He ends the message with a typical Reynolds-style pun, saying, “It’s a group effort… initiative.”
With the aim to help underrepresented groups in finding their place in Hollywood, the GEI has partnered with 280 companies including the likes of Netflix, Disney, and Paramount. He goes on to say that “true diversity and inclusion” is only possible with the support of industry moguls like these urging more partners to join his initiative.
But for the man who never stops impressing his fans with all the talents he possesses, GEI wasn’t enough. Last year, Reynolds co-founded another such organization to supplement creative growth in the youth.

After the roaring success of GEI, Reynolds went a step further in creating another impactful organization. The first-ever Ad for it taught people how an Ad is made by the Ad king, Reynolds himself! Since its launch in 2022, The Creative Ladder has fostered accessibility within the creative industries by bringing together creative trailblazers.
