“It’s a cousin of Suits”- Meghan Markle Hit Show Writer Aaron Korsh Teases His New Work, Says It Has Got Plenty of Similar DNA
The Suits era is going nowhere and is here to stay, for much longer than we expected. Breaking back-to-back records each consecutive week, the Meghan Markle starrer now stands among some of the epic blockbusters of Netflix. Taking over Wednesday and keeping at par with the streamer’s flagship show, Stranger Things, are just some initial accomplishments of the decade-old show on the platform. Undoubtedly so, the entire team with writer Aaron Korsh at the helm are officially the profit participants of the show.
The much sought-after writer blatantly debunked chances of Suits reboot earlier this month. However, that in no way means Korsh would put a halt on his creativity with the hype as high as such for Suits. In an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the writer weighed in on a myriad of profound questions. While some felt like a dagger to our hearts, there is still good news for the fans.

Aaron Korsh, who was taking his time to decompress, admitted that the sudden insurgence for his show has acted like some real wind in his sails. Following the 2011 legal drama, he admitted that he wrote a spec. “I believe it has plenty of DNA of what people liked about Suits,” affirmed the writer. He further added saying, “I think it’s a cousin of Suits”. However, this new unknown anonymous work is more reflective of what Aaron Korsh was when he wrote it.

When asked if the show is set in a different world, the writer did not take longer to admit, “Not completely”. Without giving away much information, Korsh continued to build on his intrigue, stating there were two plot lines running parallel. One is set in the world of lawyers and the other is set in the world of agents. At least, that was the original plan. However, after they sold it, the inclination ultimately fell onto the lawyers and Korsh “embraced it“.
The writer revealed the discussion started like “Instead of them being agents in the present day, can they be lawyers?” And although it was ironic, since that is exactly what had happened with Suits, Korsh decided to go with it. Witnessing the wonders such decisions have fetched for Suits, Korsh thought, “You know what? This is actually better.” Thus, the idea of the agents is currently terminated, and the rest is history, in the making.
