Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are two of the most well-known actors in Hollywood. They enjoy a significant fan base owing to the incredible work they have done. Their immense stardom follows them every where they go and that also includes their football team, Wrexham. It has been a great two years for Wrexham under the Hollywood duo. On the contrary, there have also been a handful of problems.

Since Ryan Reynolds and McElhenney’s takeover, not just the Wrexham team but their entire town has gone through a major transformation. Recently, a local opened up about the drawbacks to the duo’s new-found success.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have achieved massive success with Wrexham. Under the duo’s reins, the Red Dragons gained promotion after fifteen years whilst also making a name for themselves globally. Moreover, Reynolds and McElhenney have boosted the town’s tourism. While the increased tourism is  beneficial for the locals, it has also brought with it, significant drawbacks. A while ago, Wrexham local revealed in an interview with The Sun, “It’s a bit of a nightmare on match days with the traffic and parking. You become a prisoner in your own home.”

Resident Richard Hughes admitted how Wrexham went on from being a humble town to a tourist hotspot. Hughes further added that some of the visitors ignored the traffic rules during match days, parking anywhere they wished. He recalled an incident where the fans lost their cool, even throwing punches at each other. Elsewhere, another local Frank Harry has been over the moon since the Hollywood takeover.

While Harry admitted that the parking is often an issue, he revealed how he loved living near the stadium. The lifelong Wrexham fan told the tabloid, “I love it here. I go home and away.Evidently, Reynolds and McElhenney have turned the Welsh town on its head. However, it is just the tip of the iceberg.

Wrexham and its people are surely in for busier and more crowded times in the forthcoming years. The Hollywood duo have plans to expand their stadium, STOk Racecourse, increasing its total capacity. While there have been a handful hindrances in the expansion, Wrexham can surely expect more tourist footfall. Moreover, the club has given the fans every reason to be excited about its future.

The Red Dragons are slowly making their mark in the Second Division. After a shaky start, the club has witnessed an incredible run the past few weeks. Throughout October, Wrexham did not face a single defeat in any of their fixtures. The club’s impressive performance has pushed them to the second position and fans can surely hope for back-to-back promotions. Even though the locals have faced a problem or two since the Hollywood duo arrived, they have also achieved something to be proud of.
