As time passes, Sydney Sweeney is not just stepping up her game; she is also gaining confidence. The 25-year-old was just another small-town girl with dreams of becoming an actress in Hollywood. However, what makes her different from the others is that she believed in herself and made her dreams come true. Surprisingly, this was not the case when she was on the first step of her acting career.

Without a godfather in the industry, Sweeney had to struggle a lot harder than her other fellow stars. When her small-town family left everything and shifted to LA, it put a lot more pressure on the shoulders of young Sweeney. Sure, she got success after a while, but she had her fair share of struggles. So much so that at one point she was ashamed of going back to Spokane to meet her family and friends.

A while ago, Sweeney appeared on the Awards Chatter podcast by The Hollywood Reporter. When the host asked her about the visits to Spokane, she said, “It was hard. I felt embarrassed.” When he asked her the reason behind it, she said that her family uprooted their whole life for her and since she was not getting any projects, it made her feel ashamed in front of everyone.

Moving to LA was a huge step for the Sweeney family and their friends did not expect it.

For someone who has spent her entire childhood in the small town of Spokane, moving to a fancy city was a huge transition. As big a deal, as it was for the young Sydney, it was a bigger change for her parents, who spent their entire lives in Spokane.

Moreover, it was hard for them to believe the reason behind Sweeney’s family’s move to the big city. Nobody thought that they would move to a big city just because their daughter wanted to be an actress. Sweeney also accepted the fact that in her business, success (and the lack of it) is quite visible, and initially, when she wasn’t getting any, she was scared to be judged.

Eventually, the struggles paid off, and Sweeney started getting great offers. Today the actress is in line for an Emmy nomination for her film Reality, and her family couldn’t be prouder.
