Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's current and former employees are coming out of the woodwork to either defend them or throw more shade at the couple. Suddenly, the media has transformed into Archewell’s very own feedback forum, and the Duke and Duchess- especially the Duchess- are facing the heat for their rumored work ethics. This wave of scrutiny stemmed from a shocking exposé by The Hollywood Reporter, which opened up a whole can of worms about how the former actress allegedly made life miserable for her employees.
Now, another staffer, who was there with Markle throughout her leap from relative obscurity to royalty, is stepping forward to share his story.

The latest staffer to weigh in is Meghan Markle's former bodyguard, Steve Davies. He told InTouch Weekly that he felt for the Duchess as she struggled with transitioning from an actress to a royal. “We had problems with drones, vehicles chasing us. It was a nightmare,” the former British special forces soldier said. However, despite her struggle to adapt to her new life, Markle was “warm and considerate all the time”.

Davies shared that people used to be often surprised by "how friendly she is and what a big heart she has.” He also mentioned that it "hurts" him to see people holding such a negative view of the Duchess. Earlier, former Archewell COO Mandana Dayani also shared these sentiments about Markle. Along with this support from former staff, the Sussexes are also taking some savvy steps to tackle the controversy.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have figured out that they catch the most flak when they are out together. So, they have come up with a new plan to appear at events separately for a while. Earlier this month, royal author Nathan Kay laid out Prince Harry’s alleged plan to shield his wife from the ongoing backlash. "The message is being reinforced: Harry, alone, is still a prince of the people," the royal author stated.

Kay explained that Meghan Markle is stepping back for now. And even though she might not like this change, it could play to the couple's advantage and benefit their brand in the long run. Recently, Prince Harry was also spotted at the Clinton Global Summit in 2024 and even made a rare TV appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in the host's new haunted maze- which could also have been a part of the strategy. With this newfound support from their staffers and their clever tactics, they might just turn the conversation around soon.
