Welsh fans are no strangers to the insane rivalry between Wrexham and Stockport County. The Hatters were arguably the biggest disappointment for the Red Dragons in the 2021-22 season. Despite having an incredible season, Stockport County stopped the Welsh side from gaining promotion. However, two years later, both the clubs are going head to head in League Two. Shortly before the match commenced, Phil Parkinson shed some light on the rivalry as he spoke, “It is good to have rivalries.”

Meanwhile, Parkinson also recalled their loss in the 2021-22 season. The Wrexham boss admitted to having a weaker squad in the earlier seasons. He added how, after the loss, the Red Dragons have been significantly building their team. Not long ago, Wrexham brought veteran striker Steven Fletcher on board this summer. The Red Dragons surely have made some in-squad changes as well. Star striker Paul Mullin made his comeback following a severe injury.
