Is Ryan Gosling Finally Coming to MCU? Jennifer Kale’s Midnight Sons Project Might Be a Sign
The MCU timeline has introduced many new heroes and villains over the years, with the latest being Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool. But there is one hero that is still missing in the universe- Ghost Rider. And for quite some time, the fan-favorite pick to bring this superhero to life in the MCU has been the other Ryan- Ryan Gosling, thanks to his track record in similar roles and the fact that the Barbie star himself has expressed interest in playing the part. Now though, it seems more likely than ever that this fan-casting dream might actually become a reality.
Jennifer Kale joining the untitled Midnight Sons project in the MCU is making Ryan Gosling’s MCU debut all the more plausible.

Rumors say that a Midnight Sons movie is speeding its way into production. And it was reported earlier that Jennifer Kale will be joining the Midnight Sons in the future MCU project. But that is not all. According to TheGeekyCast, Kale could also help introduce her cousin, Johnny Blaze, aka Ghost Rider, in the S.H.I.E.L.D team. This might be the perfect opportunity for the studio to finally bring Ryan Gosling on board.
Ghost Rider has had two attempts at film adaptations. One, where Nicolas Cage played the character in 2007’s Ghost Rider and then, 2012’s Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. The rights have since reverted to Marvel Studios, and while the character has made a few appearances on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., with both the Robbie Reyes version and a cameo by Johnny Blaze’s Ghost Rider, the superhero has not officially joined the MCU yet. Now, it seems like Ryan Gosling might finally have a chance to play the role.
Not only is Gosling a great fit for the part, but even the MCU executives are open to the idea of him taking on Ghost Rider in the universe.
Why Ryan Gosling could be the next Ghost Rider?
Ghost Rider is a motorcycle stuntman, a role that Ryan Gosling has plenty of experience with. In fact, if Gosling took on the role of Ghost Rider, it would be the fourth time he would play a stuntman following his roles in Drive, Place Beyond the Pines, and his latest box-office disappointment. In an interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, Gosling pitched himself for the role in the MCU.

Later, Kevin Feige responded to Gosling's pitch during an interview with Variety, saying he would "love to find a place for him in the MCU." However, it is not just Gosling in the running- actors like Norman Reedus are also popular fan choices for Ghost Rider and are reportedly interested in the role, too. With so many potential choices, only time will tell whether fans will see Ryan Gosling take on the iconic character.
