Regardless of the enormous stardom stars receive, it is a common perception that a bigger fish still exists. Be it the top-tier Hollywood A-listers or the sought-after TV stars, doubts, fears, and risks all come along with the accolades and acclaim. Similar is the case with Stranger Things‘s David Harbour. No sooner did he portray the rugged cliff face Hawkins Chief Inspector, Jim Hopper, than offers came gushing for his future endeavors. As he made his comeback through the Action Drama, Gran Turismo, he was, however, initially unsure if it would actually work.
The two-hour Nissan-sponsored video game competition movie hit the US theaters earlier this month on 11 August. In light of the celebrations, the star sat with a Josh Horowitz interview where he shared how he cast doubts over his success, comparing it with Tom Cruise’s Top Gun Maverick.

Sitting with Josh Horowitz, the star teased a major Stranger Things plot, brought out his Geek nerd side, and spoke of a spectrum of his works, both coming and gone. Speaking of the just-released action thriller, he said how his recent work has the “ebbs and flows of an old school type movie” just like Cruise’s action sequence. “Are we gonna be able to pay off?“, and” Will we be able to sustain the euphoria” were some of the many questions that clogged up Harbour.
However, with the stretches of downtime and the classical arc of characters, they successfully managed to stick to that landing. Speaking to Horowitz, Harbor expressed the delight of finally making it through. “Is it gonna be okay?” asked the star, consoling himself in pride that yes, it was okay. “And then is it gonna sustain, and it does,” exclaimed the 48-year-old in glee, speaking of Gran Turismo.
