IMMACULATE Sydney Sweeney: ‘Madame Web’ Actress Lands A Solid Comeback After Horrors in A Scary Fashion
Sydney Sweeney has taken back to soaring ahead in the Hollywood arena as her latest horror flick, Immaculate, continued its upward trend to now sit at a 78% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes from 78 reviews. The movie debuted at 71% after its airing at the SXSW Film Festival a couple of days ago. Additionally, it now also holds the honor of the highest-rated horror-thriller outing by the actress, surpassing the 63% rating of her 2020 flick, Nocturne.
The positive reception also highlighted her brushing off a fever dream experience with Madame Web as her stint as the first-ever live-action adaptation of Spider-Woman landed below expectations. Scheduled for a theatrical debut on March 22, 2024, Immaculate has the Euphoria actress play a nun, Cecilia, in an Italian convent, whose virgin pregnancy starts scripting a tale of unabated horror instead of an expected miracle in a movie laden with jump scares and gory visuals.

The imminent release of the movie follows a continued foray from Sydney Sweeney into the limelight. Just ahead of her Sony starrer, she played the role of Bae alongside Glen Powell as Ben in the romantic-comedy, Anyone But You. The big-screen adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing earned widespread acclaim while leaving its mark at the box office and continues to do so with the fairly recent launch of its physical media debut.
As far as the impending horror flick stays concerned, its director teased some major goosebumps ahead.

Immaculate comes from the directorial helm of Michael Mohan who has collaborated with Sydney Sweeney twice before on Everything Sucks! and The Voyeurs. However, he listed the impending flick as his “boldest” ever while vouching for the audience, leaving the theaters with an “extreme reaction”. Furthermore, he labeled its ending as “f*cking extreme” while ensuring a thorough experience with unhinged visual elements such as the lead character drenched in blood, as shown in the trailers.
Mohan also described as length as to how he did not pull back any punches for his latest flick. Additionally, he also recalled how Sydney Sweeney excelled beyond expectations in a role she auditioned for about a decade ago. Written by Andrew Lobel, Immaculate holds the distinction of varying in tone, genre, and acting outlook for the actress, setting the stage for a showdown for maybe her most intense performance yet.
