Cillian Murphy is raking the Box office with the Christopher Nolan movie right now. In cinema alongside Barbie, this historic drama has an outstanding performance by the Peaky Blinders actor. And as we know, his character as Tommy Shelby has a separate fan base altogether. The slick hairdo with an intense character has been entertaining fans for over six seasons. The interesting dynamic of Shelby and Hardy’s Alfie Solomon was one of the key suspense scenes that left a cliffhanger.

In one interview, Murphy got candid about his co-actor and the upcoming Peaky Blinders film.

In an interview with GQ, Oppenheimer’s actor spilled some interesting details about the Peaky Blinders film. The interviewer asked if Murphy had any plans on working with Tom Hardy again. The actor replied he would love to and that they have developed “great trust and shorthand.” Sharing superb chemistry, the actor expressed the possibility of a Peaky Blinders film. But since he was not certain which platform they would collaborate on again, he said, “I am not sure.“

When asked about the latest status of a Peaky Blinders film, he neither confirmed nor denied it. He said, “I have no update for you, man” owing to the major uncertainty surrounding the timeline of the strike. Since the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike has not reached a solid conclusion, the actors and writers in protest do not know when they can return to the production process. But reassuring the interviewer, he added, “If there’s more story to tell, I’d be there.”

While he is not very sure where he will reunite with Hardy or when there will be a Thomas Shelby movie, this is what we know until now.

The tease of a Peaky Blinders film

The actor had hinted about the movie earlier, too. In an interview at BAFTA, the actor had talked about it citing the same sentiment, “if there’s more story to tell.” After a confusing season six ending, the actor did not reveal much about the upcoming season seven. Keeping mum on the subject, he just seemed to be content to see how the plans work out.

The showrunner, Steve Knight, had earlier revealed their desire to make a film. After season six ended, they decided to make a film solely focusing on Thomas Shelby’s character. Knight said that he had almost finished writing the film too, having started it long ago. And after the ongoing blockbuster success with Oppenheimer, the actor seems to be free of any other major projects.
