The royal family might have given Princess Diana a hard time, but her youngest, Prince Harry, knows how to pay it back. The Duke of Sussex has always been a religious follower of his mother, the only family relative he has ever truly adored. Standing his ground was his beloved wife, Meghan Markle, who also considered the former Princess of Wales their guiding light. In this Invictus Season, here is one of the many instances where the Duke accredited his mother for being the driving force for his brainchild.

Ahead of the 2016 Invictus Games, Prince Harry sat for the exclusive cover of People Magazine, giving a splitting image of his life so far.

As always, he was all for his mother, the iconic Princess Diana who inculcated in Prince Harry the virtues that he takes pride in. “I certainly hope and believe everything I do makes her proud,” expressed the Duke. In the 12 short years that he spent with his mother, he closely noticed the energy and lift she got from serving the underprivileged.

Regardless of their “background, ailment, or status” Prince Harry claimed her life, and those she helped changed for the better. Thus, speaking of his founded Paralympic tournament, Invictus Games, he confessed, “I honor my mother in everything I do. I am my mother’s son”. Time and again, he has often confessed how, after distancing himself from the royal family, he felt the constant presence of his mother. And with someone like Meghan Markle by his side, he saw pieces of Princess Diana in her further nurturing their relationship.
