And Wrexham star player George Evans revealed in an interview with Leader’s Live that he would “absolutely love to face the Premier League winners.”
The player further spoke about how he had faced a number of big teams in his former clubs, but it never kicked in. He added if the possibility of facing Manchester City arises for Wrexham, the opportunity would be really special. However, Wrexham has to overcome a series of hurdles before they get the chance.
The club has to first overcome two rounds before they get a chance to face Manchester City. However, the Red Dragons are not new at giving big teams a run for their money. Wrexham previously faced Manchester United in the pre-season friendlies. The added experience and the team’s incredible performance have led the Red Dragons’ boss Phil Parkinson to think fondly of the FA Cup.

Wrexham’s fairy tale run in the 2022-23 season has been Reynolds and McElhenney’s greatest feat as owners. The Red Dragons finished the league in record-breaking style. Interestingly, Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson spoke in great detail about how the FA Cup played a key role in helping Wrexham gain promotion from the National League. The manager revealed how they used the competition to test themselves against better teams.
Wrexham previously lost in the 2022-23 FA Cup run against Sheffield despite putting up a show in the competition. However, the current season surely looks highly exciting. The Red Dragons’ star defenders have already returned as they face Mansfield.
