Jason Bateman has now become a household name. From his fan-favorite role as Michael Bluth in the comedy-drama Arrested Development to Netflix’s Ozark; the American director has skillfully put on display the best of his forte and has since garnered a cult classic following. And through both of Bateman’s hit shows, we have come to know his on-screen and seemingly ‘dysfunctional’ families. But little do we hear about Bateman’s real-life family which includes his beautiful wife, Amanda Anka, and their two daughters.

Having first met her at a hockey match back in 1988, the two were friends for over a decade before they started dating. They were around 18 or 19 years old when they first became friends. However, Bateman was more of a partygoer than settling for a serious relationship. They hence remained friends for over 10 years and started dating in 1998 and dated for 2 years before tying the knot in 2001. And since then they have stayed in a happy marriage and share two daughters (Francesca Nora and Maple Sylvie) together.

“I wanted to marry somebody who wasn’t someone I had to be in any particular mood to want to be around,” Bateman told Daily Telegraph back in 2014. He further said he just wanted someone with whom he can be himself and Amanda was that girl for him. However, they had their own set of ups and downs, but they eventually overcame it and are now a happy family.

Notably, Anka is the daughter of Paul Anka, a famous Canadian singer-songwriter. He has produced a plethora of songs under his belt including ‘Puppy Love’ and ‘Diana.’ He is also the producer behind the 2004 jazz album ‘Rock Swings.’ Furthermore, the 54-year-old New Yorker is also a low-key showbiz herself. In the early 2000s, she has done a plethora of roles, including in the adaptation of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Geoffrey Wright’s Cherry Falls.

Furthermore, she has also done small roles in dramas, The Fosters, Bones, and Beverly Hills. She has also done voiceover for The Greatest Event in Television History and has also co-produced Apple TV+’s hit series The Morning Show alongside Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon. The mother of two has also appeared in one episode as a guest.

Well, apart from her professional journey, she has been a wife and best friend to Jason Bateman and they have since shared a beautiful time together.
