“I started screaming”- ‘The White Lotus’ Star Walton Goggins Tells a Spine-Chilling Story From His Childhood Worthy of a Short-Film

Actors may seem forever trapped in the fleeting glow of the silver screen, their lives unfolding just as the audiences believe—crafted, curated, and confined to the spotlight. But beyond the facade, the stars walk shadowed paths, their true stories lurking in the dark shadows, waiting for either prying eyes or their own whispered confessions to bring them to light. The White Lotus star Walton Goggins has chosen the latter, stepping forward from the fog of his past with a tale chilling enough to script the ultimate horror flick this spooky season.
Though Halloween still slumbers in the distance, Goggins summoned the chills early, conjuring a ghostly memory from the depths of his childhood.

On a recent episode of the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, The White Lotus actor Walton Goggins appeared taking a trip down the eerie lanes of his childhood’s past. Most of those memories are wrapped around his mother, with whom he lived in Decatur, Georgia, for three years. But among the many recollections, one stood out from when he was just four in his Georgia duplex, his bed pressed against the wall when the night took a turn that ended in sheer terror. “I started screaming,” Goggins revealed.
Goggins set the scene: a small window, stretching from his knees down, barely guarded by an opaque curtain. Just as sleep began to pull him under, a light flickered in the backyard. At first, it was silhouette movements of a shadow, but as his eyelids grew heavy, a crouched, motionless figure became clear. Man or woman, he could not tell, but he knew someone was kneeling on the rooftop just behind the glass. Goggins was paralyzed and could not scream, but when the figure had its hands reaching out, the silent horror show became unbearable.
Once the night swallowed its presence, Walton Goggins finally found his voice. While, thankfully, the night ended, Goggins also left Georgia house with his mom in a year or so.
Where did Walton Goggins settle after the Georgia horror tales?
Several artists of the horror ministry have revealed the stories that left a scar, though they are mostly fiction. But Walton Goggins’ realist horror trip revelation on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard had every listener wishing there was an end to that night. After the actor started screaming at the top of his lungs following the shadow’s disappearance, his mother’s boyfriend came to tend him alongside her. As Goggins turned 5 years old, they moved to Lithia Springs.

Goggins recounted how his bedroom was so frigid that a trip to the bathroom felt like crossing an arctic wasteland. Instead, he would just set a glass of water on his bedside, only to wake up and find it frozen solid for a routine nightly spectacle of ice alchemy. While that thrill defined his childhood, at least Lithia Springs did not chill him to the bone like Georgia did where the frostbite of memory still leaves him conjuring the ghost of the past.
