“I lost myself…” – Prince Harry’s Interviewer Reveals the In-Depth Talks Were Probably Not a Good Idea
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have stayed on the news for as long as they have been the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The royal couple who parted ways with Buckingham Palace in 2020, has since been leading “financially independent” lives. Yet, the separation was never and still is not as easy as slicing a branch off a tree. In their case, they seemed to have chopped down the very one they were sitting on, as their claims and allegations against their royal counterparts have always come back to haunt them.
In the latest such instances, Prince Harry’s interviewer found himself in murky waters as he expressed his displeasure in “agreeing” to an in-depth and bombshell-laden interview with the Duke back in March.

A couple of months after putting out some of the most shocking allegations against the UK royals, including King Charles, Prince Harry sat with Dr. Gabor Maté for an interview. The session had the expert go ahead with an ‘intimate conversation’ with the royal about his claims. Additionally, the March 4 interview also had the expert ‘diagnose’ the Prince with ADD. Now, months later, Maté, in his appearance on The Diary of a CEO podcast, laid forth his regrets. “So, I didn’t follow my gut feelings. I lost myself even in agreeing to the format,” said the expert.
The revelations pointed to him not trusting his “gut feelings” of having the interview hidden behind a paywall. The 90-minute long ‘therapy’ session required viewers to pay £20 to stream it online. While noting that it should have been an open-to-all discussion, his second lament came in the form of the British media and public shunting him down with “demeaning” remarks.
The session also brought down a jolting bolt along the royals as the Prince dropped some of the biggest bombshells ever.

The March interview saw Prince Harry back up his claims from his memoir, Spare, by landing strong accusations against his father and his brother. Speaking to Maté, the Duke narrated a lack of being held and “hugged” as a child. Moreover, he also explained feeling living inside a bubble until he started therapy. The Duke followed it up by claiming he was providing everything he lacked as a child to his kids – Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Finally, the interview also had him hold his wife, Meghan Markle, in the highest esteem by backing up claims from Spare. In his memoir, the Prince Harry had detailed a fight with Prince William over Meghan Markle. Although rebuffed by the royal quarters, it came forth as a massive drop. Meanwhile, he had called being with his wife a “lightbulb moment”. From understanding racism to developing a better persona, the Duke credited it all to his wife.
