During her appearance at Revlon’s Annual Philanthropic Luncheon at Chateau Marmont, she broke her silence on the matter. “I feel like we’re exacerbating it by even talking about it,” she told ET Online.

The actress-turned-entrepreneur said that their divorce had nothing to do with her former costar. It did not sit well with her the way people brought up Aniston’s name. So she wanted the negative attention off of her bestie and subtly pushed back at gossipmongers.

Cox has always tried to shield her bestie when things got hard for her and warned her beforehand when something popped up. This might remind fans of the time she reached out to the 54-year-old when rumors of her rekindling with Pitt took over the internet.

She has stood strong with Aniston through good and bad times. So Cox did not want her to burn from the flame that had bruised her before. According to the sources, the actress has helped Aniston with relationship issues and has remained protective of her over the years. This was seen clearly when she defended her friend at a public event.
