“I didn’t like..” – Jennifer Aniston Once Revealed How Her Childhood Shaped Her Love Life

One year after Jennifer Aniston bid adieu to her iconic character of Rachel on Friends in 2004, her 5-year-long marriage with Brad Pitt also culminated in divorce. While the 54-year-old found remarkable success in her professional endeavors in Hollywood, her personal life, especially in the realm of love, presented challenges that haunted her for years to come. After her headline-making divorce with Pitt, she even remarried over a decade later. However, her marriage with Justin Theroux went down the same path as it culminated two years later. 

The Friends sensation reflected on her tribulations in relationships and revealed her thoughts on it all earlier this year.

Aniston spoke in an interview with the Wall Street Journal in August this year about her childhood history that may still be affecting her love life. She confessed how watching her parents’ failed marriage did not set a great precedent for her. Especially since she “did not like the idea of sacrificing” one’s personality and desires for the sake of a relationship. Moreover, she did not know “how to” do so either.

According to the Murder Mystery actress, not having any “real training” in a “give-and-take” of such nature left her clueless about how to do that in her relationships. Well, she even remarked that doing so was “still a challenge” for her. Observing her family’s relationship dynamic left her feeling that it would be easier to live life “solo”. She even jokingly revealed to only be “sleeping with” her dog at the time. 

As of now, the 54-year-old does live solo and has moved on from the heartaches of the past, at least in Pitt’s case.

The majority of Aniston’s fans know of the difficult times she went through after her split from Brad Pitt was made public. In particular due to the constant media attention that was placed on the power couple and the Bullet Train actor’s romance with Angelina Jolie soon after his divorce. While it is commonly known how devastated Aniston was by all that, she still confessed to loving him even during that time

Despite all that had unfolded, today the two past lovers speak of each other fondly. From sharing laughs over bygone times to referring to each other as friends in interviews, it is evident that Aniston has mended the part of her heart that once ached due to her ex. Judging by her comments about her childhood, the We’re the Millers actress seems to looking inward instead.
