When Princess Diana passed away in 1997, the world was in shock and stuck in grief. The car crash that killed her was deadly and many mourned her passing in such a manner once the details were out. Understandably, enacting such a horrific accident would take a toll on one and Elizabeth Debicki, who had to play out the late Princess’ last moments, and The Crown cast who had to witness had it rough, experienced it as they filmed the sequences. While recalling the shoot with The Hollywood Reporter, Debicki called her experience “unusual and beautiful.”
However, the job came “with a huge amount of responsibility,” she confessed. Her co-star, Abdalla, also agreed with her by saying that there was “great emotional involvement for everyone” before making a revelation: “I cried for real when she died and I cried when I saw it on screen,” he said.
With the first part of the two-part ending out, the openness of the actors has fans all over the world wondering just how hard it is going to be to relive. However, there are some who are hoping for a prequel.

After a good 6 season run, The Crown creator Peter Morgan finally wrapped up the series. With a story so well known and popular, the final season might have been the hardest story to tell out of them all. Earlier this year, he revealed that he would not be going ahead with the recent history of the royals as that would take it out of the biographical genre.
However, Morgan did hint at having plans for a prequel, which will not be on the cards for the foreseeable future. Thankfully, fans will not have to wait too long for another dose of The Crown as the second part of the series finale is set to make its way to the Netflix library on December 14.
