Hugh Jackman Likens ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ to a “romantic comedy” for This One Reason
Deadpool & Wolverine’s box-office success is the easiest thing to predict at this point. There is no way the movie will not be a blockbuster. But a lion's share of its anticipated success should be credited to its marketing efforts. Having Ryan Reynolds in a project automatically guarantees a top-notch marketing campaign. However, Deadpool & Wolverine has knocked it out of the park in terms of hilarity. Now, Hugh Jackman has introduced another dynamic to the movie and the chemistry between Deadpool and Wolverine.
Hitting the contrary belief with a bulldozer, the actor assigned the upcoming Marvel movie to a rom-com genre just for this one reason.

Deadpool & Wolverine is currently on a global press tour, which kicked off in Shanghai with a fan event and continued in Seoul. Commenting on the posts that surfaced from the tour, avengergram shared on Instagram, “Seeing all the Deadpool & Wolverine press tour posts is like watching a romantic comedy”. This post was further shared by Hugh Jackman on his Instagram story, weighing in on the hilarious claim made by the fan page.
The post that the page shared had Deadpool lifting Wolverine in a very La La Land-ish way. Even though it was clearly animated, the post sparked a frenzy of laughter among fans. Apart from giving peeks into the chemistry between Deadpool and Wolverine ahead of the movie’s release, these press tours have also sparked curiosity about possible cameos. Especially the Shanghai fan event, the first stop of the tour, led to a major rumor.
Those fortunate fans who had the privilege of watching parts of the movie claimed Blake Lively's cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Blake Lively is one of the most rumored actors to have a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, apart from Taylor Swift, of course. During the Shanghai fan event, a few lucky fans had the chance to catch 30-40 minutes of the movie. Following the event, some rumors surfaced regarding Lively appearing as Lady Deadpool in the movie. Apparently, the 30-40 minutes had a feature of Lady Deadpool, and though the character's face was not visible, her voice sounded similar to that of the Gossip Girl alum.
A Hollywood insider, however, debunked the rumor later. MyTimeToShineHello shared a response to the rumor on X, stating, "The Lady Deadpool footage was 5 seconds long and no voice was heard so that's not true.” Whether or not Lively makes an appearance in the movie, she has definitely contributed to the creation of some of the best memories on Deadpool & Wolverine sets, making fans even more eager to see the dysfunctional yet rom-com-esque dynamic between Deadpool and Wolverine.
