Deadpool & Wolverine hit theaters last month with the much-anticipated impact. As the highest-grossing R-rated film to date, Marvel Studios' flagship movie not only lived up to its promise of being a Marvel game-changer but also resurrected the fan-favorite Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman. Despite Jackman’s impressive 24-year Marvel career reflecting his deep connection to the character, he was recently seen responding to a fan with a touch of cynicism. 

While Ryan Reynolds is usually the one engaging with fans, the Deadpool & Wolverine collaboration has evidently influenced Jackman, who now exhibits a Reynolds-like charm, though with a hint of skepticism.

A Wolverine fan on X, known as WolverSteve, penned a heartfelt tribute following the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, a film that Hugh Jackman humorously calls a romantic comedy. Having enjoyed “2.07 glorious hours of movie magic,” the fan thanked the actors and creators for delivering a love letter to Marvel and Fox’s legacy. However, what they did not expect was Jackman to respond to his review, especially with some self-doubt about his affection for Wolverine, suggesting that their passion might surpass his own.

“I’m not sure who loves Wolverine more. You or me!” Jackman wrote in the thread. The Wolverine actor also took the chance to thank the fans for their support of Deadpool & Wolverine, leaving both the superfan and his followers in a state of surprise. Although Jackman’s enthusiasm for the character was evident when he agreed to reprise the role, the overwhelming fan adoration since his return has put his own expressions of affection into perspective.

Actor Wesley Snipes, who recently made a surprising cameo as Blade in Deadpool & Wolverine, has earned two Guinness World Records. He now holds the record for the longest career as a live-action Marvel character, returning 25 years and 340 days after his initial role in 1998’s Blade, surpassing Hugh Jackman, who first appeared as Wolverine 24 years ago in 2000’s X-Men.

Snipes also set the record for the longest gap between appearances of a Marvel character, with a 19-year and 231-day hiatus since Blade: Trinity in 2004. This surpasses Alfred Molina’s 17-year gap between playing Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2 (2004) and Spider-Man: No Way Home. While Snipes' achievement in character portrayal duration outstrips Jackman’s Wolverine, the reception only highlights the enduring affection fans have for Jackman's portrayal, sometimes overshadowing even his own admiration for the role.
