Hugh Jackman’s Comic-Accurate Suit Brought Out the "craziest" Response on the Set of 'Deadpool & Wolverine', Reveals Producer
Wolverine’s costume has seen a 50-year evolution since it was first introduced in the 70s. From the yellow and brown variant from 1963's Uncanny X-Men #139 in 2013's The Wolverine to the X-Men trilogy’s iconic black leather suit, Hugh Jackman has been the one and only Wolverine in live-action who got to try on various costumes for the popular Marvel mutant. But it is in Deadpool & Wolverine that the actor would finally don the most classic yellow and blue costume from the original comics.
To describe just how special this moment is for every Marvel fan, the producer of Deadpool & Wolverine has shared the on-set reaction to Jackman’s comic-accurate Wolverine costume.

The executive producer of Deadpool & Wolverine, Wendy Jacobson, recently sat for an interview with HeyUGuys, where she shared the reaction to the first look of the yellow-and-blue costume from those involved with making the movie. Jacobson revealed that during the camera test, the moment Hugh Jackman walked out in the iconic Wolverine gear, she saw "grown men sobbing" on set. "It was one of the craziest things,” said the San Andreas producer.
After seeing this reaction the makers knew that "it was a special, very special thing." The costume, paying heartfelt homage to both the source material and the visionary creators, received a similar response when some leaked set pictures of Deadpool & Wolverine surfaced on the web last year. However, this was not the first time filmmakers thought of bringing out this comic-accurate costume.
Earlier this year, Jackman shared how the classic Wolverine costume almost got a feature before Deadpool & Wolverine.

Hugh Jackman shared his reaction to his Deadpool & Wolverine suit in an interview with Empire in May of this year. The actor, however, revealed that they almost debuted the iconic yellow get-up in his 2013 sequel film The Wolverine. The movie also gave a glimpse of Wolverine's yellow-and-brown suit. However, the scene in which the costume was featured, got deleted from the theatrical cut.
Talking about finally donning the yellow suit, Jackman expressed, "It looked so right, it felt so right". While there have been many suits in the live-action run of the comic book character, the image of Logan's yellow-and-blue suit, nearly a quarter-century later since Jackman first played Wolverine, has now become the biggest thing in movies this year.
