He further extended his love for the sport by celebrating his country’s win in the ICC Cricket World Cup by posting something on his official Instagram handle.

This word came to life after Hugh Jackman, the Wolverine star, posted an Instagram story celebrating Australia’s ICC World Cup 2023 victory against India. While many are aware of the actor’s caliber as an actor, they are unaware that he is a huge cricket enthusiast. Notably, his affection for the game came to the fore on numerous occasions. Given the patriotism that everyone feels for their country, the actor sided with his home team during the match.

However, he has previously praised the Indian cricket squad. For example, in 2017, he sent a video message to former skipper Virat Kohli encouraging him to “play bold like Logan does” and praised the Indian players for their performances on the international stage. But, at the end of the day, the actor is a true Aussie who will always support his country.

Jackman, who has previously played with Shane Warne during 2010 Ashes, attended Day 4 of England vs. Australia’s 5th Ashes test match at Oval in July this year. He later stated that it was a “dream come true” for him and that he “never thought it’d happen.” In a post on X (previously Twitter) he wrote, “Dreamt of this moment as a kid.” Interestingly, he not only attended the match but also dabbled in some live commentary as well.

During his brief time in the box, the actor demonstrated his extensive knowledge of the sport and provided a clear account of what was going on the ground. His commentating abilities were greatly admired by fans, who flocked to various social media sites to demand that the actor become a full-time commentator.
