Coco Gauff may be a nineteen-year-old from Florida, but she is also one of the best tennis players in the world. After being compared to Serena Williams on multiple occasions, the player dazzled the world at the US Open a few days ago. And taking that forward, Gauff has successfully claimed her first Grand Slam after beating Aryna Sabalenka on Saturday, 9th of September. Having defeated the world’s number 2 in women’s singles Sabalenka, praises have been coming in left and right for the Gauff.

While it was sure to be an emotional moment for Coco Gauff, the emotions only went higher with fans and supporters praising the tennis player. Even Hollywood stars took time out of their days to share their support on Instagram, including Hugh Jackman and Will Smith.

After Coco Gauff won her Women’s Single title against Sabalenka, she was met with an outpouring of love and support on social media. And love also came in pouring from Hollywood’s Fresh Prince and Wolverine. Will Smith re-posted a reel from the US Open’s official page on his Instagram story with the caption, “COCO THE GREAT!!” The video saw a girl dancing after Gauff’s iconic victory. In the story after, he re-shared the picture of Gauff kissing the US Open Trophy. Whereas the Logan actor went a completely different way.

Hugh Jackman also took to his Instagram stories, congratulating the tennis star on her major feat. He even mentioned in the next story how he found her speech” beautiful, humble and thoughtful.” While Carlos Alcaraz felt he came too far when Smith congratulated her on his Wimbledon win, Gauff’s reaction is yet to be seen. With her first win, Coco Gauff has also been added among the greats like Serena Williams.

Coco Gauff made history at the 2023 US Open

On September 10th, Coco Gauff went up against Aryna Sabalenka in the Women’s Single finals. After a rather difficult start, the nineteen-year-old turned the entire game around after losing the first set. After her win, Coco Gauff became the third American teenager to have ever won the US Open. Which added her to an elite list that held Serena Williams and Tracy Austin.

The last time a teenager won was back in 1999 and it was a seventeen-year-old Williams that won her first Grand Slam at the time. During the interviews after the match, Coco Gauff thanked her doubters as they fuelled her to prove herself even more. While this may be her first big win, she can be another Serena Williams in the making.
